Pioneering Streaming Service Embraces Dolby Vision 2
The future of streaming is becoming more vibrant and detailed. In a groundbreaking announcement, Peacock and Dolby Laboratories revealed that Peacock will be the initial streamer to embed Dolby's comprehensive array of cutting-edge visual and audio technologies.
Enhancing Live Streaming with Advanced Tech
Peacock subscribers can expect a significant leap in viewing experiences for live sports and other events. Over the next year, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos will enrich the platform, transforming how audiences perceive and hear each minute of content.
Addressing Common Viewer Concerns
This joint effort aims to tackle typical viewer frustrations, such as dim visuals and challenging audio. By upgrading certain shows and films already available on Peacock with Dolby Atmos and Vision, and being the first to broadcast 'Sunday Night Football' in Atmos, the service is setting a new standard.
Introducing Dolby Vision 2
The integration also brings NBA and MLB broadcasts into the fold, with enhancements in vision and sound quality. With Dolby Vision 2 offering better color and sharper images for sports, subscribers with the necessary equipment will witness real-time sports like never before.
Dolby's Cutting-Edge Audio Codec
Highlighting its move to Dolby AC-4, Peacock embraces Dolby's superior audio format. This facilitates a spatial sound experience with reduced data usage. The next-gen Dolby Vision 2 promises enhancements in brightness, contrast, and more.
"Peacock is setting new benchmarks in streaming quality with our partnership," stated John Couling, Dolby Laboratories' senior vice president for entertainment. "Together, we are redefining live sports and entertainment to give viewers exceptional experiences at home," Couling elaborated.
