Scott Adams, Creator of Dilbert Comics, Passes Away at 68

Scott Adams, well-known for creating the popular 'Dilbert' comic strip, has passed away at the age of 68. This news was shared by Shelly Miles, his first ex-wife, during a live broadcast of his YouTube show.

In May of the previous year, Adams disclosed his fight against a particularly aggressive form of prostate cancer that had metastasized to his bones. He had mentioned having a similar condition to Joe Biden.

Former President Donald Trump acknowledged Adams' death on Tuesday, expressing on Truth Social that Adams was a great individual who supported him even when it was not widely accepted. He described Adams as a courageous warrior against a devastating illness and extended his sympathies to Adams' family, friends, and followers.

Debuting in 1989, the Dilbert comic made satire of office environments and continued until 2023. The strip ended when several publications ceased its publication, responding to comments by Adams that were perceived as racist and discriminatory. His remarks included labeling Black people as part of a 'hate group' and advising that White people should distance themselves.

Such statements led to widespread backlash, resulting in newspapers like the Los Angeles Times and platforms like the USA Today network and Andrews McMeel Universal severing their associations with him. Adams addressed the situation on YouTube, discussing the financial consequences anticipated, including losing the majority of his income tied to Dilbert.
