Swedish School Sealed Off Due to Potential Grenade Threat

In Sweden, a school was placed under lockdown as authorities investigated two objects believed to be hand grenades.

"All individuals associated with the school, including students, guardians, and educators, have been notified of the situation," reported the school's administrator, Susanne Karlsson, to the state broadcaster SVT. "Nobody is permitted to vacate the premises. Our team is engaging with students to address any concerns according to established protocols."

The institution, located in the Hässleholmen sector of Borås, which lies approximately 40 miles east of Gothenburg, serves around 800 pupils.

Law enforcement arrived at the site shortly after 7:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday following the discovery of the first suspicious item. Shortly thereafter, a second one was sighted, as per local media sources.

The vicinity was secured, and a specialized bomb squad was dispatched, according to a police spokesman, Fredrik Svedemyr, who provided information to SVT.
