Two Students Injured in Shooting at Evergreen High School; Families Advised Against Visiting School

Authorities in Jefferson County report a shooting incident that occurred at Evergreen High School around midday Wednesday.

Located approximately 28 miles southwest of Denver at 29300 Buffalo Park Road, the school was the site of a shooting that left at least two students injured.

Emergency communication officials stated that there were alerts of an 'active threat' in the vicinity of Evergreen High School. The Sheriff's department confirmed that the injured students are being transported to a medical facility for treatment.

The scene remains active, and officials urge parents or guardians of the students not to head to the school right now.

An educator informed CBS Colorado that they are remaining on lockdown with students confined to a classroom within the facility.

For family reunification, a designated station has been arranged at Wilmot Elementary School, situated at 5124 S Hatch Dr., merely a short distance from the high school.
