Classic Sesame Street Episodes Coming Soon to YouTube
Starting in January 2026, YouTube will introduce an enormous collection of classic Sesame Street episodes. This release is set to include 'hundreds' of full episodes, greatly expanding the digital availability of this beloved children's show.
Expanding YouTube's Children's Content Library
With the integration of classic Sesame Street episodes, YouTube will further enhance its portfolio of child-friendly content. Already home to popular channels like Cocomelon, which is gearing up for a feature film release in 2027, and Ms. Rachel, who has secured a deal with Netflix, YouTube anticipates this addition will provide parents with more educational viewing options for their children.
Sesame Street's Presence Across Streaming Platforms
On November 10th, new Sesame Street episodes will premiere on Netflix, marking the beginning of Season 56. This new season will feature a revamped format focusing on one concentrated 11-minute narrative per episode. Additionally, these episodes will be synchronized for release across PBS stations and PBS KIDS digital platforms in the United States.
Last year saw a significant shift in distribution strategies when Warner Bros. Discovery opted not to continue its agreement with Sesame Workshop to stream new episodes via the platform now rebranded as HBO Max. This decision opens avenues for Sesame Street to broaden its reach through other digital channels.
