Over a day has passed since Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was shot outside a hotel in Midtown Manhattan, initiating an extensive search for the perpetrator.

CCTV Footage Reveals Shocking Attack at Hilton Midtown

Captured on surveillance, the shocking attack occurred early in the morning as Thompson was ambushed by a masked individual with a suppressed firearm.

The gunman approached stealthily and fired at Thompson, aiming for his back and leg. Though the gun appeared to jam, he quickly resolved the issue and continued shooting.

Witness accounts tell of the suspect crossing the road openly, exhibiting no concern about being seen.

A witness described, 'I was on my phone when I heard the shot, then saw the man with a weapon fitted with a silencer.'

Thompson was on his way to deliver key remarks at a UnitedHealthcare conference hosted at the Hilton Midtown.

Ongoing Investigation and Potential Suspect Lead

NYPD investigators are meticulously examining his digital devices for any evidence of threats. It is believed the culprit left crucial evidence at the scene.

Police have traced the suspect's path towards Central Park, with video showing his exit near West 85th Street shortly after the incident.

According to Richard Esposito, a former NYPD official, 'The attack was calculated, targeting Thompson by initially shooting him in the back.'

Though the assailant demonstrated careful planning, he reportedly visited a nearby Starbucks before the shooting, where cameras may have captured identifiable images.

Police are analyzing items found at Starbucks, including a water bottle, candy wrapper, and a phone near the shooting location.
