Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update Released Ahead of Schedule
Revisiting early 2020 isn't a desire for most, but during that time, Animal Crossing: New Horizons emerged as a heartwarming story amid lockdowns, allowing virtual gatherings on beautifully curated islands.
A New Update Drops, Sparking Nostalgia
Nintendo hopes to rekindle interest among previous players with the latest DLC that has been launched a day in advance. Eurogamer noted the immediate availability of the free New Horizons 3.0 update, which enhances the life simulation game with a range of fresh features, including a new seaside resort hotel for players to decorate.
Explore New Features and Enhancements
In addition to new items and improvements, players now have the option to build new islands alongside family and friends in a dreamscape known as 'Slumber Island.' The update is accessible by selecting the New Horizons icon from your Switch's main menu and downloading the latest software.
Future Enhancements Coming to Switch 2
Last year, Nintendo revealed that an improved version of New Horizons would be available for Switch 2 on January 15, featuring upgraded visuals, mouse support, GameChat capabilities, and an expanded multiplayer mode supporting 12 players. Until then, the Switch 2 version remains inaccessible, so you'll have to use the current Switch version up to that point. The upgrade is priced at $5, while newcomers can acquire the Switch 2 version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons for $65.
