The trucking industry also features prominently, with owner-operator truck drivers occupying the second spot, thanks to a burgeoning demand and an impressive $160,000 median salary.
Technology-Infused Roles
Data scientist, singular in the tech field among the top 10 at 10th place, underscores the continuing relevance of tech professions. Complementing this are roles such as SAP consultant (24th), software engineer (28th), and business intelligence developer (29th) among the fifty highlighted careers.
These professions center on collaboration with artificial intelligence rather than replacement by it, as emphasized by Indeed's director of economic research, Laura Ullrich.
Rise of Skilled Trades
Occupations in manual labor and skilled trades are also earning recognition. HVAC technicians and electricians, ranked at 16, illustrate roles less susceptible to AI disruption, thus appealing to younger demographics.
Ullrich noted that 'hands-on jobs face minimal AI threat,' mentioning that courses at community colleges teaching such skills are seeing increased enrollment demand.
