January 15: Resident Evil Showcase Scheduled
Get Ready for the Resident Evil Requiem Unveiling—Possibly More Surprises from Capcom
The eagerly anticipated new chapter in the Resident Evil saga, known as Resident Evil Requiem, marks the first main series game since 2021’s Resident Evil Village. With only a few weeks until its release, Capcom is preparing to unveil additional information. On January 15 at 5PM ET, the publisher will broadcast a Resident Evil Showcase, accessible via Twitch and YouTube in both English and Japanese.
This presentation will be brief, lasting approximately 12 minutes. It promises to reveal all the latest developments concerning Resident Evil Requiem, likely showcasing gameplay footage before its impending launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam slated for February 27. However, Capcom might have additional announcements up their sleeve. According to a statement on the Resident Evil website, some titles featured in the broadcast will not be suitable for a young audience.
This implies that the showcase might also highlight other installments within the Resident Evil franchise. It could be a reminder of forthcoming ports of Resident Evil 7 and Village to Switch 2, also debuting on February 27. There's potential for more porting news, and viewers might even catch a first look at the next Resident Evil film, a series reboot directed by Zack Cregger, known for Barbarian and Weapons, scheduled for September theatrical release.
