Insta360 Launches Upgraded AI-Driven Webcams in Link Series

Introducing the Enhanced Link 2 Pro and Link 2C Pro Models

Famed for its expertise in action cameras, Insta360 has unveiled a pair of AI-driven 4K webcams: the Link 2 Pro and Link 2C Pro. These are targeted at digital creators, teachers, and professionals working remotely. The ambition with these models is to offer a webcam quality that closely resembles that of professional cameras and microphones.

The webcams feature a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor and dual native ISO to boost performance in dim lighting compared to earlier versions, as well as HDR support. Audio quality is enhanced by beamforming technology coupled with AI noise cancellation, ensuring clarity in noisy conditions. Users have a selection of four audio modes; for instance, ‘Focus’ isolates a single voice, whereas ‘Wide’ caters to multiple speakers.

Superior Video Quality and True Focus Technology

Both webcams support video in stunning 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. Insta360 has refined its True Focus technology, using phase detection for autofocus to reliably track and keep subjects sharp during movement. Additionally, a 'Natural Bokeh' feature offers a DSLR-like depth-of-field effect for those desiring a similar visual style.

The Link 2 Pro distinguishes itself with a 2-axis gimbal facilitating AI-guided tracking and flexible framing choices for individuals or groups. Conversely, the Link 2C Pro is more suited to fixed installations. Both cameras enable gesture-based controls, maximizing accessibility by allowing users to initiate or cease tracking and adjust zoom magnification without direct contact.

Innovations for Educators and Presenters

A variety of modes cater specifically to instructional and presentation needs. The Smart Whiteboard mode automatically recognizes and frames a presenter’s board, while DeskView offers a comprehensive overview from above the user's workspace. Other functionalities include a green screen option, portrait mode, and virtual background support.

These new webcam models are also integrated with Insta360 InSight, a subscription service that serves as an AI-driven meeting assistant. It provides capabilities like recording sessions, transcribing content, and generating meeting summaries.
