As an AI Specialist, This Note-Taking Device Stands Out at CES
In a landscape where AI gadgets are gaining momentum, the Plaud company is leading the way with innovative tools for enhanced note-taking. At the CES event, they unveiled two new additions that promise to elevate users' capabilities in recording notes using artificial intelligence.
Design and Functionality
The Plaud NotePin S continues with its predecessor’s minimalist pill-shape design, offering versatility by allowing it to be worn as a wristband, necklace, or pin. The highlight of this new version is a central button, making it easier for users to swiftly capture important moments.
Previously, this 'highlight button' was missing, which left users unsure of the recording status. Now, with a tactile response and haptic feedback, the new iteration ensures users are aware when recording begins. This functionality was repeatedly requested and has now been fulfilled.
Long-Lasting Battery
One of the impressive features of the NotePin S is its battery performance. According to Plaud, with a continuous operation of up to 20 hours and a standby duration of 40 days, it offers long-term reliability for intermittent use over several weeks.
Cost Implications
Priced at $179, the NotePin S is slightly more expensive than its previous model. The purchase includes a complimentary starter plan allowing 300 minutes of transcription each month. Users can opt for upgraded plans if more minutes or advanced AI features are needed.
Introducing Plaud Desktop
Additionally, Plaud has launched Plaud Desktop to facilitate recording of online meetings. Unlike others like Otter.ai, it doesn’t introduce bots into the call. Instead, it identifies ongoing meetings on popular platforms and enables secure, real-time audio recordings with options for additional inputs.
This tool is integrated into the Plaud ecosystem, providing access to recordings from the wearable device and desktop applications across various central hubs like Plaud Desktop, Plaud App, and Plaud Web.
Looking Forward
ZDNET intends to test the NotePin S in the coming week, promising a hands-on update to this overview. Stay tuned for insights into user experience and performance.
