Motorola Unveils Promising Razr Fold at CES 2026

Motorola, during CES 2026, introduced its first ever phone-to-tablet foldable device, the Razr Fold.

Key Highlights from Lenovo's Tech World Showcase

Featured at Lenovo's Tech World event, Motorola's latest Razr innovation marks a significant evolution from its previous clamshell structure. This Razr Fold distinguishes itself with a book-like hinge, enabling a much larger display than earlier models.

Externally, the Razr Fold presents a 6.6-inch display, maintaining a familiar look. However, unfolding the device reveals its impressive 8.1-inch 2K LTPO inner screen, surpassing prior screen dimensions like the 6.4-inch outer display of comparative devices.

Comparison with Competitors

While specific details about the screen resolution and other key specs remain under wraps, such as processor type and battery capacity, Motorola promises a device optimized for creativity and functionality. Yet, comprehensive specifications are still forthcoming.

What makes the Razr Fold stand out is its triple 50MP rear camera setup, which includes a primary lens, a versatile ultra-wide/macro lens, and a 3x telephoto lens. It also houses a 32MP front-facing camera and a 20MP inner camera for seamless video communication.

Advanced Imaging and More Features

Central to the camera system is the Sony LYTIA sensor, enhancing image richness and offering Dolby Vision support to refine visual output. Other features include compatibility with the Moto Pen Ultra stylus and several AI-driven tools, although release dates remain undisclosed.

Although Motorola's pricing strategy is under speculation, the brand's history of affordability suggests a competitive price point. Analysts predict the Razr Fold could debut at under $1,000, presenting a cost-effective rival to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Galaxy Z Fold7.

Reflecting on previous Razr models, experts foresee the new version aligning closely with Motorola's cost-efficient ethos, potentially serving as a superior value alternative to more expensive flagships.

Special Edition Announcement

In tandem with the foldable, Motorola is releasing a FIFA World Cup 26 themed Razr. This limited edition includes distinct features like custom wallpapers, a ringtone featuring the tournament theme, and a FIFA watermark for images.

Although launch specifics for the FIFA special edition have not been specified, anticipation aligns its arrival prior to the World Cup's commencement in June.
