The ASUS Zenbook Duo Unveils an Impressive Revamp at CES 2026
A Long-Awaited Overhaul for a Beloved Laptop
Back in 2024, the ASUS Zenbook Duo amazed many as a dual-screen notebook that genuinely merited investment. Fast forward to CES 2026, ASUS has rejuvenated this model with numerous enhancements that align with the expectations of its audience.
Enhanced Design and Durability
Following the Zenbook family tradition, the 2026 version introduces ASUS' Ceraluminum finish to the external surfaces – the lid, bottom, and kickstand. This new finish not only has a visual appeal but also strengthens the device against wear and scratches. Enhancing usability further, the device features a refined magnetic latch and a reliable Bluetooth system for its removable keyboard, ensuring consistent charging and pairing.
Innovative Hinge Technology
The standout innovation of this redesign is undoubtedly the 'hideaway' hinge system. This new feature enables the laptop to lie flat on a surface and greatly reduces the spaces between its dual 3K 144Hz Pro OLED screens to a mere 8.28 mm—cutting down previous gaps by 70 percent, which enhances the seamless nature of a dual-display laptop.
Compact yet Powerful
Despite integrating a significantly expanded 99Whr battery (a step up from 75Whr), the new Zenbook Duo has managed to reduce its size by five percent compared to its predecessor. This means it's more portable without adding weight, maintaining its thickness between 0.77 to 0.9 inches and a weight of 3.6 pounds. ASUS ensures exceptional connectivity by including Wi-Fi 7, dual USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, and an HDMI 2.1 outlet. For creators, the Duo supports the ASUS Pen 3.0, turning the laptop into a convenient drawing surface when the keyboard is detached, although the inclusion of the stylus itself remains unconfirmed.
Internal Power Boost
Inside, the Zenbook Duo is powered by options of either Intel’s Core Ultra 7 355 or Ultra 9 386H processors, paired with up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage space. With an increased TDP of 45 watts, the device promises enhanced performance, especially when coupled with the upgraded integrated graphics capabilities from Intel's Arc series.
A Better Experience on the Go
Although some remain skeptical about the necessity of dual-screen laptops, for those missing the familiarity of dual monitors while traveling, the revamped Zenbook Duo represents a substantial enhancement of a pioneering concept. With a larger battery and faster processing in a sleeker package, it stands out among the CES 2026 lineup as a device I'd love to own immediately.
The lingering question revolves around its pricing and availability, as ASUS has yet to announce these details. The hope remains that the new Zenbook Duo will offer affordability when it hits the market later this year.
