Asus has unveiled the Zenbook A16, an expanded version of the previously released Zenbook A14, designed to be a lightweight and larger addition to their lineup.

Introduction of a Larger Model

At the CES 2026, Asus introduced a larger sibling to the Zenbook A14: the Zenbook A16. This new model, boasting a 16-inch display, shares many similarities with the A14, including the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite processors. Both laptops excel in terms of portability and convenience, featuring OLED displays, a pair of USB 4 ports, a USB-A port, 70Whr battery capacity, and a unique Ceraluminum coating that comes in elegant beige and gray colors.

Improved Display Features

The standout feature of the Zenbook A16 is its enhanced screen, which offers a resolution of 2880 x 1800 at a 120Hz refresh rate, significantly surpassing the A14’s 1920 x 1200 and 60Hz. Impressively, the A16 reaches a peak brightness of 1,100 nits, while the A14 peaks at 600 nits. Furthermore, the inclusion of an SD card slot distinguishes the Zenbook A16 from its predecessors and other models.

Remarkable Portability

Both the Zenbook A14 and A16 are designed with portability in mind. The A14 can weigh as little as 1 kilogram (about 2.2 pounds), whereas the A16 weighs approximately 1.2 kilograms (around 2.65 pounds). This weight puts them in the same league as models that primarily focus on being lightweight, such as the LG Gram, which lacks some features like the SD card slot present in the A16.

Release and Pricing

The updated Zenbook A14 and its larger counterpart, the A16, are scheduled for release in the early to mid-second quarter of 2026. Although pricing details remain undisclosed, the sleek design and advanced features signify that these models aim to compete with other high-end yet portable devices, potentially serving as an alternative to the 15-inch MacBook Air, especially for users who value additional features like an SD card slot.
