Segway's Groundbreaking and Affordable E-bike Lineup

Making a bold return to this year's CES, Segway caught attention with innovative vehicles catering to diverse riders. The brand, under Ninebot, unveiled two new electric bikes—the rather traditional-looking Myon and the easy-entry Muxi. Additionally, they introduced the sleek electric off-road bike, Xaber 300.

In the past, Segway focused on quirky gadgets like balance-challenging pods and niche paintball karts. Last year marked a pivot with the more serious Xyber bike and the easy-access Xafari. This year, Segway expands its range with three new models designed to adapt to a variety of lifestyle needs.

Advanced Safety and Tech Features

Both the Myon and Muxi models are equipped with modern anti-theft solutions, including the innovative Lost Mode that lets owners deactivate the bike and battery remotely if stolen. They provide abundant real-time health stats, vibrant displays, and sophisticated software updates to enhance power assistance.

Segway offers an optional RearView Radar for $99.99, featuring a 150-degree rear view with a 230-foot range to keep cyclists aware of approaching vehicles, providing safety and peace of mind on the road.

Innovative Riding Experience

An adaptive Xiro Dropper seat post intuitively lowers the seat so riders can easily touch the ground when stopping. Available soon as an add-on for $299.99, this feature simplifies mounting and dismounting.

Myon: Versatility for All Riders

Sculpted for city commuters or casual cyclists, the Myon comes in three versions: Class 1 (pedal-assist, no throttle, 20mph max speed), Class 2 (throttle, 20mph max speed), or Class 3 (no throttle, 28mph max speed). This model is poised as Segway’s go-to for mass appeal.

The motor allows for 500 watts of consistent power and achieves 85Nm torque. Its robust 48V / 722Wh battery supports an expansive 80-mile range. The inclusion of 80mm front suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, and a contemporary electronic gear-shifting setup ensures a seamless blend of comfort and usability.

Segway’s electronic shifting marries simplicity with intuition via easily accessible handlebar controls. This innovative system shortens cables to reduce wear and service needs while also allowing detailed adjustments through a dedicated app.

The TurboTuned Myon, featuring Algorithm 2.0, syncs motor and battery functionality for a smooth experience. Sensors gauge pedaling strength, cadence, and surface for real-time power adjustments tailored to ride conditions.

Featuring a low-step frame and an optional removable top tube for $99.99, the Myon’s starting price is a budget-friendly $1,999, available for preorder starting January 6th.

Muxi: Retro Vibes with Modern Consequences

The Muxi channels a classic beach cruiser aesthetic with its curved design and upright stance. Segway aims for a more relaxed ride with diverse functionality enhanced by optional accessories, from cargo to passenger setups.

Available in Class 1 and 2, the Muxi boasts a straightforward single-speed drivetrain and robust 750W motor with 80Nm torque. Safety features like Hill Start Assist and Descent Control, alongside regenerative braking, emphasize stability and reduced maintenance. Traction Control further stabilizes rides, assisted by Segway’s Smart Ride System for added security.

Set for a March 2026 release, the Muxi's starting point is $1,699.

Xaber 300: Off-road Adventure

Stepping into the rugged biking realm, the Xaber 300 is Segway’s newest all-terrain electric bike, tailored for adrenaline-driven escapades. Specifics about its power, range, and cost are pending, promising further revelations later this year.

Offering three selectable power modes corresponding to 150, 200, and 300cc bikes ensures a seamless transition as riding skills advance. Experienced users will appreciate a digital clutch mimicking the feedback of traditional units.

A flexible Traction Control System and skill-enhancing wheelie angle settings via an app invitation add technical control to various terrains. Young riders are catered for with parental controls setting speed limitations and geofencing, though compliance depends on user cooperation.
