CES 2026: Shokz' Revolutionary Earbuds Enhance Noise Control Without Isolating You
Discover the Dolby Atmos Enhanced OpenFit Pro, Now Available for Preorder at $249.95
Shokz, previously known for introducing bone-conduction technology to headsets, has been innovating in the open-earbud market. Launching at CES 2026, the latest offering, OpenFit Pro, combines advanced noise management with Dolby Atmos support in sophisticated wireless headphones. These earbuds rest just outside the ears, fastened by hooks over the ears, allowing you to remain aware of your surroundings.
A standout feature of the OpenFit Pro is its adaptive Noise Control Mode. This acts similarly to active noise cancellation (ANC) but for open-style earbuds. You can tailor it to your liking, choosing from Reduced, Default, or Enhanced levels. Even at a basic setting, it effectively diminishes background disturbances such as the hum of air conditioners. Shokz indicates that its noise control works best in spaces with moderate background noise, such as coffee shops, gyms, and office environments. If desired, you can revert to Open Mode to fully engage with ambient sounds.
The OpenFit Pro also boasts Dolby Atmos spatial sound and Dolby Audio enhanced by Dolby head tracking. This setup, especially when streaming music, showcases the earbuds’ capabilities, with its significant 11mm x 20mm dual-diaphragm drivers taking center stage. Shokz promises a more profound bass and a 'truer' sound in this model, and initial assessments affirm this. However, be mindful that the sound may be audible to those nearby even at moderate volumes. My peers, sitting adjacent as I pen this, have taken note of my playlist choice—specifically, 'The Fate of Ophelia.' Consider me intrigued by Taylor.
OpenFit Pro Battery Life and Ease of Use
Battery life on the OpenFit Pro extends up to six hours on a single charge, with Noise Reduction Mode on, and can reach up to 24 hours when using the charging case. Disabling Noise Reduction Mode extends earbud usage up to 12 hours. Moreover, with IP55-rated durability, wireless charging capability, and automatic wear detection, these earbuds offer resilience and accessibility.
You can now preorder the OpenFit Pro beginning January 6, priced at $249.95, available directly through the Shokz website or at Best Buy.
