Audeze Introduces the Maxwell 2 Gaming Headset at CES 2026

Audeze has revealed the next iteration of its Maxwell gaming headset at CES 2026. Tailored for competitive gamers and those desiring deeply immersive sound for PC or console gaming, the Maxwell 2 marks a significant update from its predecessor, which was highly praised in 2025 as a top-tier gaming headset.

Innovations in Sound and Comfort

At the forefront of Audeze's enhancements is a new, proprietary SLAM technology designed to elevate spatial audio cues and deliver enhanced bass impact. This feature works in tandem with 90mm planar magnetic drivers, which boast an expansive frequency response ranging from 10Hz to 50kHz. Audeze asserts these upgrades lead to finely detailed audio, capturing every subtle game sound from quiet footsteps in FPS titles to the resonant bass of explosions, all with minimal distortion.

Designed for Extended Play

Comfort has been a key focus, with enhancements like a suspension strap featuring ventilation holes to reduce heat buildup over prolonged use. Additionally, a redesigned earpad configuration offers more room for your ears. This makeover is complemented by a new magnetic system that simplifies the process of changing earpads.

Advanced Connectivity and Features

Equipped with an AI-powered noise cancellation system, the Maxwell 2 includes a removable hypercardioid boom microphone designed for crystal clear communication. Connectivity options include a wireless USB-C dongle and Bluetooth 5.3 capabilities. With over 80 hours of wireless use and support for rapid USB-C charging, the headset is built for endurance.

The Maxwell 2's price starts at $329 for the PlayStation version and $349 for the Xbox variant, which is compatible with Dolby Atmos on suitable devices. Both versions also work with Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and the Nintendo Switch, and are currently available for purchase.
