A New Digital Friend to Nurture Your Plants
Senso: Blending Entertainment with Plant Care
Imitation Tamagotchis are thriving at the 2026 CES show. SoildTech innovates on this concept by embedding a virtual companion in the soil to aid in keeping your flora healthy. The device, named Senso, merges a botanical sensor with a Tamagotchi-inspired gadget, providing essential data about your plant's environment and a playful approach to ensure their well-being.
Whenever your plants require hydration or better exposure to light, animated characters present you with tasks to fulfill these needs. By diligently caring for your greenery, you simultaneously enhance the prosperity of these characters' cyber world—a realm uncannily reminiscent of a setting familiar to those who once inhabited Tamagotchi Paradise. The virtual assistant attaches magnetically to a dual-pronged sensor inserted in the soil, allowing easy transfer among various plants if you own several.
An AI Companion for Your Green Thumb
The accompanying AI-driven application allows users to organize and monitor a collection of plants, delivering detailed information about each plant's status and requirements. According to Soildtech, the software can also diagnose plant species and their potential ailments from photographs. Additionally, Senso’s voice interaction feature provides the convenience of verbal plant care guidance.
Designed with novice plant caretakers in mind, Senso is undeniably charming, although it's unclear how accurately it evaluates plant health, based on our short examination. Available in a variety of colors, Senso is set to debut on Kickstarter in the near future.
