Trump Hints at Possible Actions Against Colombia and Cuba

During a recent conversation with the press in London, President Donald Trump suggested that the Colombian leader, Gustavo Petro, might soon face U.S. intervention similar to America's recent actions in Venezuela.

At the same time, Trump also indicated potential repercussions for Cuba, criticizing its longstanding alliance with Venezuela's former regime under President Maduro.

Trump stated, "Colombia is plagued by a leader involved in the cocaine trade with the U.S., a situation that will not continue for long, I assure you."

When questioned about potential military action against Colombia, Trump responded positively, saying, "The idea sounds appealing."

Following Trump's remarks, Petro denounced the baseless accusations, asserting, "Trump speaks without understanding the situation; I have no involvement or record in drug trafficking over the last five decades."

In response to queries about a possible strategy for Cuba after Maduro's fall, Trump claimed that Cuba's survival was heavily dependent on Venezuelan resources, which are no longer accessible.

"Without Venezuelan aid, Cuba is on the brink of collapse," Trump declared. "The Cuban regime's financial stream has dried up, making their fall seem imminent, much to the satisfaction of Cuban Americans."

When asked if the U.S. plans to intervene in Cuba, Trump suggested that such measures might be unnecessary due to the island's deteriorating situation.

Shift in Leadership and Future Plans for Venezuela

In Venezuela, following Maduro's detainment, Delcy Rodriguez has been named interim president by the nation's Supreme Court, criticizing Maduro's removal as an American 'abduction.'

Meanwhile, Maduro and Cilia Flores await their court appearance in New York, scheduled for Monday.

Rodriguez has called for Maduro's return and has promised to resist U.S. hostility, emphasizing a desire for collaborative ties within international legal frameworks.

Trump and the Venezuelan Oil Reserves

In a discussion with The Atlantic, Trump conveyed that additional measures might be taken if Rodriguez does not conform to his expectations, particularly focusing on the accessibility of Venezuela's oil.

"We dictate the terms now," Trump proclaimed. Although he hasn't communicated directly with Rodriguez, he assured that he would at an appropriate time.
