Unveiling of 8BitDo's New Mobile Gaming Pad at CES

The gaming accessory manufacturer, 8BitDo, is stirring excitement with a teaser for its upcoming smartphone gaming device, the FlipPad. Specifically aimed at those who favor portrait-mode gaming, this innovation is set to make its debut in the summer of 2026. Notably, the FlipPad will be compatible with both iOS and Android systems and is recognized with official support from Apple.

While the sneak peeks preserve some mystery, 8BitDo has promised a full reveal of the FlipPad during this week's CES event. Accompanying this anticipation is an animated short video that illustrates the gadget's USB-C connectivity and unique design. Once connected, the device elegantly pivots on a hinge to rest seamlessly along the lower portion of a mobile device's screen. This visual depiction showcases a range of controls: a directional pad, the iconic purple ABXY buttons, selection and initiation keys, accompanied by half a dozen unnamed buttons.

Their collection includes nostalgia-driven models such as the NES40 series, celebrating the four-decade legacy of Nintendo's NES.
