Meet Onero H1: SwitchBot's Laundry-Handling Humanoid Robot

SwitchBot is set to introduce a groundbreaking home assistant at CES 2026. This innovative creation, known as the Onero H1, is heralded as "the most user-friendly AI-powered home robot." This follows the previous year's launch of a versatile robot that combined vacuuming capabilities with a mobile platform.

Cutting-edge Household Capability

Designed to reduce domestic chores, the Onero H1 is a multifunctional humanoid robot, capable of performing tasks that include handling objects, maneuvering through spaces, and tidying up. This adaptable machine excels in various household environments, mastering everyday activities.

An Insight Into Onero’s Proficiency

A promotional video demonstrates the Onero H1 in action: making coffee, preparing breakfast, cleaning windows, doing laundry, and even folding and storing clothes.

While not entirely humanoid, the Onero is equipped with articulated limbs and a face, but lacks legs. Its mobility is ensured by a wheeled base, enhancing the modular legacy of SwitchBot’s previous multitasking bot.

Technological Marvel

The robot is outfitted with a multitude of cameras positioned strategically on its head, arms, and torso, supporting its advanced sensory capabilities. A remarkable feature is its 22 degrees of freedom (DoF), allowing for complex, independent movements.

Onero’s OmniSense vision-language-action (VLA) model integrates visual insights, depth evaluation, and touch-based feedback, enabling it to perceive and adapt to various objects and scenarios.

Real-World Application

Although video demonstrations can differ from on-the-ground experiences, anticipation is building as I prepare for an exclusive demonstration of Onero at CES.

SwitchBot positions Onero as a step towards transitioning from single-use tools to an intelligent multitasking system. The question arises whether consumers prefer specialized robots or versatile assistants capable of handling diverse tasks.

Currently, a hybrid approach seems more practical—robots that manage smart devices rather than carry out tasks directly. SwitchBot’s design integrates with existing products like vacuums and air quality devices.

Challenges and Prospects

Robots like the Onero, operated on wheels, face challenges in homes with stairs. However, SwitchBot is moving ahead of competitors with plans for preordering Onero H1 and its arms, A1, on their website, although pricing details remain undisclosed.
