A New Era for Samsung's Micro RGB TVs: The Alternative to OLED
Insights from ZDNET
Samsung is making significant strides by enhancing its Micro RGB TV lineup for 2026. It's set to include a versatile range of sizes: 55, 65, 75, 85, and 100 inches. These additions align with their previous grand 115-inch model, focusing on transforming the viewing experience with compact yet impactful screens.
Micro RGB technology is gaining traction, with both Samsung and LG spearheading advancements. Samsung's innovation lies in the use of sub-100 micrometer RGB LEDs, which operate independently to provide highly detailed light management and authentic color rendition, creating exceptionally vibrant images.
Previously showcased throughout 2025, Samsung is now scaling down the sizes of its Micro RGB TVs to offer more options for various home environments.
These upcoming TVs are powered by artificial intelligence enhancements. Key functionalities include 4K AI Upscaling Pro for sharper visuals, AI Motion Enhance Pro that minimizes motion blur, and Color Booster Pro to heighten color intensity, rendering scenes more realistic.
The standout characteristic of Micro RGB technology is its precision in color representation. Samsung ensures this with Precision Color 100, which delivers exceptional color diversity by utilizing an advanced light source and precise dimming capabilities, aiming to meet the full BT.2020 color gamut. The AI Engine Pro, a state-of-the-art AI chipset, enables precise, frame-by-frame image processing.
The TVs are equipped with an enhanced Vision AI assistant, designed to offer content suggestions and more. Additional features like Glare-Free technology mitigate reflections, and integrated speakers finely tuned with Dolby Atmos provide superior audio quality. Although specific prices and release dates remain undisclosed, Samsung confirms the new models will be available next year.
