Meta Introduces Conversation Enhancement Feature in AI Glasses
At the recent Meta Connect event, Meta unveiled its plan to upgrade AI glasses with a new feature designed to enhance conversations in noisy environments. This update, known as Conversation Focus, is now being made available to users participating in the Early Access Program, specifically those owning Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN glasses.
The Conversation Focus feature is quite straightforward. By utilizing the directional microphones embedded in the glasses, it effectively amplifies the voice of the person you're communicating with. Adjustments to this feature can be done by either swiping the right arm of the glasses or through the device settings. Although it is not directly marketed as an accessibility feature, it offers a significant improvement for those who primarily use the glasses as headphones.
Additional Integrations with Spotify
In addition to Conversation Focus, Meta has also launched a new integration of its AI with Spotify. This allows users to play music based on what they visually perceive. For instance, you could instruct Meta to play Christmas songs while gazing at a Christmas tree by simply saying, 'Hey Meta, play a playlist that complements this setting.' Alternatively, you can directly request a seasonal playlist. This feature exemplifies a growing trend; for context, Google recently showcased a preview of its Project Aura and Android XR prototype glasses.
