Budget-Friendly Blink Cameras to Feature AI Video Descriptions
Amazon's economical Blink security camera line is set to introduce AI-produced video summaries as a new feature for its subscribers. These AI-based descriptions, capturing motion activities through doorbells and cameras, will be accessible in beta version starting today, November 17.
Similarities with Ring's Capabilities
Mirroring the feature seen in Ring products, another Amazon-owned brand, Blink's AI-generated summaries are designed to provide a quick overview of events occurring inside and outside your residence. Any movement detected by the devices can trigger a video alert in the Blink application, but the descriptive summaries aim to pinpoint which alerts merit your attention.
Subscription Details
The Video Descriptions feature will be available on all models of Blink doorbells and cameras, as long as you are subscribed to the Blink service for a minimum of either $4 monthly or $40 annually. This includes the latest models such as Blink 2K+, Blink Outdoor 2K+, or Blink Arc cameras, allowing users to benefit from this innovative feature.
Rollout Exclusions
Beginning today, the beta version of Blink Video Descriptions will be launched for subscribers, though Illinois residents may be excluded due to the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
