Kemi Badenoch's Husband Moved by Her Tory Leadership Triumph
As the news of Kemi Badenoch being named the new leader of the Conservative Party broke on the second of November, her husband, Hamish Badenoch, was visibly emotional.
Kemi Badenoch emerged victorious over her competitor with a substantial lead, securing 53,806 votes, whereas her rival gathered 41,000. These votes were cast by a voting body comprising 131,680 members.
This achievement marked her as the inaugural black woman to become the leader of a prominent British political party, alongside being the fourth woman to steer the Conservative Party.
In her post-victory speech, Ms. Badenoch expressed gratitude towards her husband. She also addressed the need for her party to confront past missteps, stressing the importance of honesty regarding their errors and the lapse in maintaining standards.
