Girl, 13, Critically Wounded in Stabbing Incident

A young teenage girl, aged 13, was found grievously injured on the side of a highway in East Yorkshire. Currently, she is in a hospital in a critical yet stable condition, as confirmed by the police.

The incident occurred early on Friday morning, around 6:50 GMT, near the A63 in Hessle. The girl was discovered with severe injuries, including deep cuts and stab wounds to multiple areas: her neck, abdomen, chest, and back.

Detective Superintendent Simon Vickers, who is heading the investigation for the Humberside Police, revealed that there is a connection between the victim and her assailants.

Authorities have taken four boys between the ages of 14 and 17, along with two girls aged 14 and 15, into custody. They were apprehended near the crime scene under suspicion of attempted murder.

Det Supt Vickers stated, “Our investigation team has been rigorously following various leads over the past 24 hours, aiming to uncover the motives behind this brutal attack and to comprehend the full circumstances surrounding it.”

He expressed his gratitude towards the public for helping the injured girl and for providing valuable information to the police.

Continued Police Presence and Public Aid

Det Supt Vickers assured the public that police officers would remain present in the area throughout the day and over the weekend. He encouraged individuals with any concerns or information to approach the officers.

The police have also informed that cordons, previously set up around a wooded region adjacent to the A63 and Ferriby High Road where the young teenager received assistance, have now been removed.

Authorities are appealing for further assistance from the public. They are particularly interested in dash cam or CCTV footage captured near the vicinity of the incident.
