Elon Musk Commends Apple's Latest Feature

Despite a history of critiquing Apple, Elon Musk has found favor with the tech giant over its newest functionality.

Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, unveiled an advertisement showcasing their recent hearing aid functionality on the platform now called X, which was previously known as Twitter. The advert depicts a father with hearing difficulties utilizing the Apple AirPods Pro 2 to listen to his daughter unwrap Christmas gifts.

Describing the commercial as 'impressive', Musk expressed his approval on Friday. Additionally, he acknowledged Cook's Thanksgiving message on X, where Cook expressed gratitude for Apple's employees, its users, and everyone striving to make positive impacts globally.

The relationship between Musk and Apple hasn't always been smooth. In 2015, Musk humorously remarked in a German publication that Apple's workforce comprised those Tesla had discarded.

Musk's criticisms intensified in June after Apple's collaboration with OpenAI was revealed. He took to X to criticize Apple's decision to incorporate ChatGPT as a selectable feature across iOS 18, terming it an 'unacceptable breach of security'. He even threatened to prohibit the use of Apple products within his enterprises if the integration proceeded.

As a competitor in the AI field with his Grok AI chatbot and a cofounder of OpenAI, Musk ridiculed Apple's steps into artificial intelligence, questioning their capabilities by suggesting they weren't 'intelligent enough to develop their own AI.'

In reply to a Tim Cook post endorsing Apple Intelligence on X in June, Musk asserted, 'I do not want it,' demanding, 'Cease this intrusive tracking, or all Apple devices will be outlawed from my business locations.'

According to the FDA, over 30 million Americans have some level of hearing impairment. The hearing aid feature on Apple's AirPods Pro 2 enables users to perform a hearing test or apply results from a medical professional, tailoring audio to their auditory needs when utilizing the AirPods.
