FEMA Dismisses Worker for Bypassing Pro-Trump Residents in Florida

FEMA has announced the termination of an employee who directed emergency responders in Florida to disregard homes displaying support for former presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Deanne Criswell, FEMA's Administrator, stated, "This action is completely opposed to FEMA's key values of assisting all individuals without political bias." She declared the conduct as intolerable.

It was initially reported that the FEMA supervisor, who has since been relieved of duties, instructed personnel to skip over residences showing allegiance to Trump during their recovery missions.

"I am committed to ensuring such incidents are not repeated," Criswell emphasized in her remarks.

The case has been forwarded to the Office of Special Counsel for further examination.

In response, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized the Biden administration, ordering an inquiry into what he labeled as biased treatment against Trump backers in Florida.

DeSantis stated, "Such acts of political prejudice by federal officials only highlight why the current administration's term is nearing its conclusion." This sentiment was shared on social media platform X.

The dismissal happened shortly after Trump's electoral victory over Kamala Harris, and amid ongoing efforts to recover from Hurricane Milton, which severely impacted Florida's Gulf Coast.

During the hurricane's aftermath, Criswell also criticized Trump for spreading false information about FEMA's emergency funding status.
