Introducing the Mentra Live: Shipping Begins Soon
Mentra is preparing to launch its debut smart eyewear: The Mentra Live. Developers have been tinkering with this platform since early 2025.
A Revolutionary App Store Experience
Mentra claims that its MiniApp Store is the inaugural application marketplace specifically for smart glasses. This store will be accessible to both iOS and Android users via the Mentra application. While it might be an overstatement to declare this the dawn of smart glasses evolving into smartphones, this is clearly the direction Mentra is heading.
Innovative Application Examples
Applications could range from simple tasks like instantaneously saving hand-written notes. A more creative example includes 'Chess Cheater,' an app designed to utilize the front-facing camera and artificial intelligence to evaluate your chessboard situation and stealthily suggest your next move.

These smart glasses are equipped with a Mediatek MTK8766 processor and boast a 12-megapixel camera offering a 119-degree field of view. They include three microphones and integrated stereo speakers, complementing HD video capabilities. They support livestreaming on platforms like X, YouTube, Twitch, and Instagram. Additionally, users can enjoy music and maintain conversations through apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, and others.
Lightweight Design and Extended Battery Life
Weighing just 43 grams, Mentra emphasizes that these glasses are among the lightest options available. They promise over 12 hours of usage per charge, with an additional 50+ hours available through the protective 2,200mAh charging case.
Availability and Pricing
The Mentra Live glasses are ready for prescription alterations and are priced at $299. An initial batch of 1,000 units is set to ship on February 15, followed by a second, limited release slated for February 28.
