Bluesky Opens 'Live Now' Badge Feature to All Users

Bluesky is rolling out its 'Live Now' badge universally, inviting all users on its platform to try this new streaming feature.

Streamlining Connections Between Twitch and Bluesky Users

Initially launched in a beta phase back in May 2025 with select users like the NBA, the 'Live Now' badge allows Twitch streamers to visibly indicate their live status right on their Bluesky profiles. This badge conveniently facilitates direct links to their Twitch streams.

At present, this feature is exclusive to Twitch streamers, but Bluesky hints at potential compatibility with other streaming platforms in the future, building on learnings from the beta phase.

Unlike its competitor X, known for restricting cross-platform links, Bluesky embraces the inclusion of links, promoting an integrated online experience.

Introducing 'Cashtags' for Financial Conversations

In addition to the 'Live Now' badge, Bluesky’s latest update introduces 'cashtags', a specialized type of hashtag for tracking discussions about stock market symbols and publicly traded companies.

This feature harks back to pre-Elon Musk days of Twitter, where 'cashtags' were used to categorize content related to financial markets, making it searchable and interactive.

By typing a dollar sign followed by a company’s stock symbol, users can engage with posts linked by the same cashtag on Bluesky. Though Bluesky's audience has not historically been finance-focused, the introduction of this tool implies an openness to attracting individuals from similar platforms looking for such functionalities.
