The Overlooked MacBook Air Rival Unveiled at CES 2026
Summary from ZDNET
Last year, Asus introduced the ZenBook A14, an impressive ultraportable device that quickly became my primary laptop. At CES 2026, this device sees significant enhancements including an expanded 16-inch model.
Retaining its original charm, the 2026 ZenBook A14 boasts an OLED screen, ample storage options, and a lightweight build, all while staying below 1kg. Being a frequent traveler, these specifications are particularly appealing to me.
Revamped Features for 2026
The Asus ZenBook A14 (UX3407NA) houses a powerful 18-core CPU with a blend of 12 Prime and six Performance cores. This, combined with an increased memory cache and superior graphics efficiency, offers significant performance upgrades.
Additionally, Asus has skillfully integrated a dual-fan cooling system within its compact 0.63-inch frame, ensuring effective heat management.
Durable Ceraluminum Design
The ZenBook A14 retains the Ceraluminum body similar to its 2025 version, enhancing both its lightweight nature and durability.
Sporting an anti-scratch and smudge-resistant exterior, it meets the robust requirements of US military-grade MIL-STD 810H standards. Extras include Asus's EasyLift hinge for ease of use and a responsive touchpad for smart gestures.
Despite initial stiffness, the hinge offers improved stability this year. Typing remains a pleasant experience, and there is ample room on the touchpad for gestures.
The ZenBook A14, weighing 0.98kg, features a vivid 14-inch OLED panel with FHD resolution. Enhanced media experiences are supported by Dolby Atmos and Snapdragon Sound, available in 24GB RAM with 512GB storage or 32GB RAM with 1TB storage options.
Ready for Connectivity
The ZenBook A14 shines in connectivity with ports like a USB 3.2 Type-A, dual USB 4.0 Type-C with display support, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack. An FHD camera equipped with Windows Hello adds more functionality. Wireless connections are covered with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Launch and Battery Details
Expected to release in Q2 2026, the ZenBook A14 promises an impressive battery life exceeding 28 hours for video playback, powered by a 70Wh battery. Pricing details remain undisclosed.
