Meta Enhances Ray-Ban Display Glasses with New Features
Meta is introducing groundbreaking updates to its Ray-Ban Display glasses, allowing users to interact with technology in a new way. Through the use of the Meta Neural Band, it's now possible for users to send text messages directly from their glasses without the need for a mobile phone or physical keyboard.
Innovative Handwriting Integration
Recently announced at CES, the innovative EMG handwriting feature allows users to compose messages by physically writing in the air or on any flat surface. This feature is being progressively introduced as an early access option in popular apps such as WhatsApp and Messenger, giving a new dynamic to digital communication.
Teleprompter Functionality for Enhanced Usability
Alongside the handwriting feature, the new teleprompter capability empowers users to synchronize notes from their smartphones into modifiable text cards visibly displayed within their Ray-Ban glasses. This allows for seamless reading and navigation of text, assisted by the Meta Neural Band, as this function begins its phased rollout.
Additional Features on the Horizon
Aside from the major updates, Meta is expanding the Pedestrian Navigation feature to include additional cities like Denver, Las Vegas, Portland, and Salt Lake City. This feature, currently in beta, provides users with visual walking directions viewable through their glasses, enriching the wearable's functionality.
