Cambridge Audio Introduces Trio of Wireless Bookshelf Speakers at CES

At CES 2026, Cambridge Audio introduced its latest line-up comprising three innovative active bookshelf speakers. Collectively dubbed the L/R Series, these speakers offer both wired and wireless functionality.

Top Model: The 800W L/R X

Leading the series is the L/R X, boasting an impressive 800 watts divided across two speakers, each delivering 400 watts. It is the priciest in the set, retailing at $2,299. The speaker is crafted with a 2.5-way acoustic setup, featuring a 28mm Torus tweeter and dual 5-inch woofers. Enhancing its sound capabilities are two 6-inch force-cancelling passive radiators, as well as a robust 64-bit audio processing pipeline. Users can enjoy Wi-Fi streaming via the StreamMagic app by Cambridge Audio. Aesthetic features include LED underlighting.

Mid-Range Option: The 300W L/R M

In the mid-tier position is the L/R M, priced at $1,599. It shares its core architecture with the L/R X, including the 2.5-way design, but it offers 300 watts of power. The model is built with smaller components, featuring 4-inch dual woofers and 4.75-inch passive radiators. Like its larger counterpart, it supports Wi-Fi streaming and includes LED underlighting.

Budget-Friendly: The 100W L/R S

The L/R S is the most economical choice at $549. It includes a 21mm hard-dome tweeter paired with a 3-inch long-throw woofer, providing 100 watts of sound. Although this model doesn't support Wi-Fi streaming, it compensates with Bluetooth aptX HD. Notably, it lacks the LED lighting features present in the higher-tier models.

Cambridge Audio offers the speakers in a variety of finishes, including black, white, green, blue, orange, and walnut. All models are anticipated to hit the market by the tail end of 2026.
