Samsung's New Wi-Fi Speakers at CES Surpassed My Expectations
Samsung unveiled its latest smart speakers at CES 2026—part of the Music Studio series—featuring the Music Studio 7 and Music Studio 5 models. Their modern aesthetics and versatile design reminded many of the Sonos Era collection.
The unique design of Samsung's speakers, featuring a concave shape with a central dot, effortlessly integrates with various environments, maintaining a timeless yet distinct look. This concept was developed by renowned designer Erwan Bouroullec, who previously collaborated with Samsung on other design projects.
Positioned as the higher-end option, the Music Studio 7 is loaded with a 3.1.1 channel setup that includes speakers positioned for spatial audio effect. It supports high-resolution audio playback and Spotify Lossless, making it ideal for those who value audio clarity and depth.
For those who own a Samsung TV or soundbar, the Music Studio 7 can be integrated as a rear speaker. Moreover, users can link multiple speakers—up to ten—without needing a soundbar for a more immersive setup.
Listening Experience at CES
Although the demo was conducted in a compact room, the sound performance was commendable. I had the opportunity to experience a setup of four Music Studio 7 speakers paired with a Samsung TV, and the sound was both rich and immersive. Despite the lack of Dolby Atmos, the system excelled in delivering a fluid auditory experience synchronized with on-screen action.
The lower frequencies were especially noteworthy, offering a deep and robust bass. While adding a subwoofer would enhance a home theater system, the existing bass response was unexpectedly potent for the speakers' size.
Design and Features of Music Studio 5
The Music Studio 5 presents a more playful aesthetic compared to its counterpart. It features a potent 4-inch woofer and dual tweeters to ensure sound clarity, alongside a waveguide to manage sound spread effectively.
The speaker comes in vibrant colors like Orange, Yellow, and Green, lending to its appealing design. However, unlike the Studio 7, it does not support high-resolution audio playback.
Samsung’s Bluetooth speakers are equipped with AI-driven Dynamic Bass Control aimed at minimizing distortion. They also support Wi-Fi casting, a variety of streaming services, voice commands, and Bluetooth connectivity. Although details on pricing and availability remain under wraps, the anticipation for securing a pair of Studio 7 speakers to enhance any living room experience is high.
