Samsung Unveils Mammoth 130-inch Micro RGB TV at CES 2026

In the midst of ongoing AI excitement and the unexpected appearance of the CEO from Hartford Steam Boiler, Samsung dropped a bombshell at CES 2026: an enormous 130-inch Micro RGB TV. This colossal display, mounted on a robust metal frame, offers a slight tilting capability, reminiscent of the brand's vintage 'timeless gallery' stand from 2013. Imagining this behemoth in a living space is akin to Bart Simpson bringing home his elephant Stampy—family members might find its dominance overwhelming, and pets could react with fear.

The television is visually stunning, employing a sophisticated version of Mini LED technology to deliver superior color fidelity and depth. While maneuvering through Samsung’s CES First Look event, it was evident that attendees were captivated, drawing parallels to the iconic reaction of primates encountering the monolith in '2001: A Space Odyssey.'

Conceptual Vision With No Immediate Benefit to Consumers

Samsung clarified that the 130-inch Micro RGB TV is merely a conceptual showcase of the company’s technological prowess, without any plans for commercial distribution at present. In one demonstration, this massive screen was mounted directly onto a wall, continuing to impress with its aesthetic appeal. It became clear that wall-mounting the design requires securing the entire 'timeless gallery' framework as it doubles as a component of the sound system.

The brand didn't delve deeply into the technical specifics of the TV but highlighted several key features. Central to its operation is the 'Micro RGB AI Engine Pro' processor, integrated with 'Micro RGB Color Booster Pro' and 'Micro RGB HDR Pro' technologies. This sophisticated system employs AI to enhance muted tones and optimize contrast, ensuring vivid colors along with detailed highlights and shadows for striking realism.

Advanced Features and Current Commercial Viability

The model also prevents glare with Samsung’s Glare Free technology, supporting HDR 10+ Advanced and featuring the company’s Eclipsa Audio. It’s compatible with additional digital assistants like Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity, facilitating conversational search.

Despite these advancements, the 130-inch Micro RGB TV remains out of reach for consumers in its current form. Last year's 115-inch version, carrying a hefty price of $30,000, was not a practical option for most. Consumers with considerable budgets are advised to consider Samsung's own Micro LED TVs, which present the advantages of OLED that Micro RGB doesn’t, starting at a base price of $110,000—a figure more accessible to those with extravagant financial resources.
