Revolutionary Smart Lock Combines Facial and Palm Recognition
Xthings is set to make a splash at CES with an impressive lineup of new devices. Among these, the Ultraloq Bolt Sense, a compact smart deadbolt, stands out by offering a blend of facial recognition and palm vein verification for seamless entry, bypassing the need for any application.
Palm scanning technology is a novel feature in the consumer market. Xthings highlights its superiority over fingerprint technology as this method identifies the vein patterns beneath the skin, ensuring functionality regardless of moisture or dirt on your hands. Additionally, its utilization of near-infrared light guarantees operation in complete darkness.
Equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, the Bolt Sense is projected to support Matter, though it won't hit the market until the second quarter. Meanwhile, the early-2023 launch of the Latch 7 Pro is anticipated. Although lacking the sophisticated palm-reading capability, it promises increased compatibility and features.
Ultraloq's Expanding Lineup
Xthings is also preparing to showcase the Ulticam IQ V2 at CES, marking the debut of its cameras with Matter integration.
A standout among their upcoming products is the Ulticam HaLow, notable for its compatibility with Wi-Fi HaLow (802.11ah), which is designed for extended range and better wall penetration due to sub-GHz signal utilization, albeit at lower bandwidth. Although Xthings hasn't specified the exact range of Ulticam, typical HaLow performance can extend to 0.6 miles, ideal for expansive areas. Unlike its initial CES appearance in 2016, Xthings includes a dedicated hub to evade the necessity for a specialized router.
The company's Ulticam IQ Floodlight, featuring an AI-powered security camera complemented by robust 2,000-lumen floodlights, ensures vivid video capture even at night, though its standard Wi-Fi limits range compared to HaLow.
