JBL Unveils New Open-Ear Earbuds Arriving in the US this March

JBL is set to debut three innovative open-style earbuds in early 2026, expanding its product line in the United States. The JBL Sense Pro and Sense Lite models will join the initial Sense model, which was first released in 2024. Both these new models incorporate JBL’s advanced OpenSound technology, provide support for Dual Connect and Fast Pair functionalities, include customizable ear hooks to enhance comfort, and feature adaptable touch controls via the JBL app. Although these earbuds were initially revealed in August 2025, concrete information on their US release wasn't available at that time.

The Distinguishing Features of Sense Pro

The Sense Pro is equipped with impressive 16.2mm drivers, offering spatial sound capabilities and high-resolution audio that adapts with a bass boost. A notable feature is the JBL Voice Pickup Sensor technology, which utilizes bone conduction to refine voice pickup, enhanced by an AI-driven algorithm for superior call clarity. These earbuds support Bluetooth 6.0 and boast up to 38 hours of playtime—eight hours with the buds themselves and an additional 30 hours provided by the charging case. They can be conveniently charged wirelessly, and just ten minutes of charging yields four hours of listening time. The JBL Personi-Fi 3.0, seen in other premium JBL earbuds, enables users to adjust equalizer settings after undergoing an in-app hearing assessment. The Sense Pro will be available in black and gray.

Features of the Sense Lite

The Sense Lite, while not as feature-rich as the Pro model, still offers commendable functionality. It lacks some high-end features such as spatial audio, high-resolution support, wireless charging, and JBL’s Voice Pickup Sensor technology. However, it can still provide up to 32 hours of battery life (a bit less than the Pro’s 38 hours). The Lite version operates on Bluetooth 5.4 technology, and a quick 10-minute charge affords you three hours of music. The earbuds hold an IP54 rating, making them resistant to water and dust, and they come in black, white, and a vibrant purple.

Introducing the Soundgear Clips

Alongside the Sense series, JBL is also launching the Soundgear Clips. They come with enhanced call quality through an AI-based algorithm and are prepared to provide up to 32 hours of playtime, much like the Sense Lite. These earbuds also resist water and dust, holding an IP54 rating, and are offered in stylish, translucent colors of copper, blue, purple, and white.

JBL’s OpenSound technology plays a crucial role in their open-ear design. It allows sound waves to travel through the air to your ear, minimizing sound leakage through phase cancellation. This setup benefits users by not completely isolating them, thus eliminating the need for a separate transparency mode to monitor ambient surroundings.

Consumers can expect all three new earbud models to hit the shelves in March 2026. The Sense Pro is priced at $199.95, while the Sense Lite and Soundgear Clips retail at $149.95.
