LG Introduces a Remarkably Lightweight 17-inch RTX Laptop
Ahead of CES 2026, LG is generating excitement with a sneak peek at their forthcoming Gram Pro laptops. These new models include the LG Gram Pro 17 (17Z90UR) and the Gram Pro 16 (16Z90U), featuring what LG claims to be the lightest construction for a 17-inch RTX laptop in the world.
A standout feature of these laptops is their construction using LG's newly developed 'Aerominum material.' This innovation offers a significant reduction in weight while boosting durability and resistance to scratches.
Cutting-edge Display and Performance
The Gram Pro 17 is equipped with a display resolution of 2,560 x 1600 pixels, combined with Nvidia's RTX 5050 GPU, which includes 8GB of VRAM. LG assures that despite the lightweight design, this setup is expected to handle demanding graphic and content creation tasks adequately.
However, its gaming performance may not support every modern game at the highest settings, so it isn't positioned as a dedicated gaming device. Details regarding the exact weight of the Gram Pro 17 remain undisclosed, but it will initially be released solely in the United States.
The Gram Pro 16: Details Yet to Emerge
Similarly, the weight of the Gram Pro 16 has not yet been announced. It features a more advanced 2,880 x 1,800 OLED screen and is driven by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors. According to LG, this model stands out as the lightest 16-inch laptop in its category to offer both local and cloud-based AI capabilities.
As for the financial aspect, the pricing and release dates for these laptops haven't been revealed yet. These details are likely to be held until their full showing at CES.
