Google Photos Set to Debut on Samsung TVs in 2026
In an exciting development for photo enthusiasts, Google Photos will make its way to television screens next year, beginning with Samsung TVs. Samsung has revealed plans to integrate the popular photo service, ensuring that images captured on smartphones can be effortlessly displayed on large television screens, transforming them into an immersive visual experience.
Interestingly, this will be the first major step in bringing Google Photos to the living room, as there's currently no native TV app available for the service, not even on Google's own TV platform. However, Samsung has not specified whether this integration will involve a standalone application. Initially, their focus is on introducing a Memories feature, set to launch on their Tizen OS-powered televisions in March 2026, which will exclusively be available on Samsung TVs for the first half of the year.
The rollout will continue with the introduction of Google's advanced search capabilities and AI-driven tools in the latter part of 2026. A notable inclusion will be 'Create with AI,' which offers themed templates and uses Google's Remix features. Meanwhile, 'Personalized Results' will enable users to enjoy slideshows of their images, organized by themes like 'beach vacations,' 'hiking adventures,' or 'European tours.'
Samsung is confident that setting up this integration will be a breeze. Users will simply need to log into their Google account on the TV to automatically start displaying their Google Photos collections. While Samsung aims to be the pioneer in offering these enhanced features, it's anticipated that other television brands will follow suit once Samsung's exclusive rights to the Memories feature conclude.
