Innovative UltraGear Evo Series Launched Just Before CES

In a move to captivate gaming enthusiasts, LG has introduced its latest series of high-performance gaming monitors under the UltraGear evo banner. These displays promise to deliver stunning 5K resolutions, significantly alleviating pressure on GPUs thanks to their built-in AI upscaling capabilities.

According to LG, this technological advancement could make it possible for gamers to bypass certain graphics card upgrades, a noteworthy benefit given the recent inflated GPU market resulting from the AI surge.

Three Cutting-Edge Models Introduced

Currently, the lineup features three monitors with potential additions to follow in the future. Notable among them is the 39-inch OLED model (39GX950B), equipped with AI-driven 5K upscaling, coupled with sophisticated algorithms designed for enhancing both visual scenes and audio output. LG describes these enhancements as crucial for delivering an enriching audiovisual experience.

This OLED display is versatile, capable of shifting from its standard resolution and a refresh rate of 165Hz to a faster WFHD setting with a 330Hz refresh rate, supported by a rapid response time of 0.03 milliseconds. Its curvature adopts a 21:9 aspect ratio for a wider viewing scope.

Advanced MiniLED and Large-Format Options

Also part of the line is the 27-inch MiniLED (27GM950B), engineered to significantly reduce blooming artifacts by implementing refined halo control and incorporating 2,304 localized dimming zones. This model ensures that detailed imagery remains consistent across both bright and shadowy visuals.

In addition to AI upscaling, this MiniLED screen alternates between a 165Hz refresh at 5K and goes up to 330Hz at QHD, coupled with a swift 1ms response time. It can achieve up to a dazzling brightness of 1,250 nits, ensuring clarity and vibrancy.

Large Format Gaming with Immersive Features

The centerpiece of the collection is undoubtedly the massive 52-inch display (52G930B), aimed at gamers who want an expansive view. This 5K monitor supports a robust 240Hz refresh rate and features an enveloping 1000R curve, making it highly suitable for immersive applications like flight simulators.
