Elon Musk's Starlink Gains 20,000 New Users Daily, Reaching 9 Million Subscribers
SpaceX, the aerospace company established by Elon Musk, is not only known for its rapid rocket launches but also for the incredible expansion of its Starlink Internet service. Within merely seven weeks, Starlink has attracted an additional one million users, skyrocketing its presence to 155 markets globally as announced in a recent post.
Currently, Starlink provides high-speed Internet access to more than 9 million active users spanning across 155 countries and regions. The company shared that since November 5th, it has consistently added over 20,000 new customers each day.
Utilizing a network of over 9,000 low-earth orbit satellites, SpaceX delivers this service even to sparsely populated and hard-to-reach areas. There is speculation that the company will launch its initial public offering (IPO) next year with potential valuations hitting $1.5 trillion.
Elon Musk, who founded SpaceX in 2002, recently indicated that the satellite service remains the primary revenue generator for the company. This rapid client base growth marks the end of a remarkable year for SpaceX.
A Year of Phenomenal Growth
In a report issued in December 2024, Starlink had 4.6 million subscribers. By August 2025, this figure had risen to 7 million. According to Cloudflare, a firm specializing in cybersecurity, the total internet traffic from Satellite users saw a more than twofold increase in 2025, underscoring the vast demand for this service.
Additionally, approximately two dozen airlines have announced their intent to integrate Starlink, providing high-speed, in-flight WiFi for passengers. There's an indication that SpaceX could potentially venture into its own mobile carrier services leveraging the satellite's network.
Breaking New Ground and Revolutionizing Space
SpaceX has achieved significant milestones by making reusable rockets commercially feasible—an endeavor once thought unattainable in the space sector. The company now leads in launching the highest quantity of cargo into orbit compared to others.
With opportunities rising as NASA and the Pentagon increasingly diversify beyond governmental space activities, SpaceX has captured a key market in global connectivity needs. Known for its demanding and efficiency-oriented work environment, the company relentlessly pursues Musk's visionary goals, which includes colonizing Mars and establishing data centers in space through its colossal Starship rocket.
