Free DLC Announcement for Hollow Knight: Silksong

Sea-Themed DLC 'Sea of Sorrow' Set for 2026 Release

Hollow Knight: Silksong, one of the most anticipated games of 2025, is set to expand with its inaugural major DLC, as revealed by developer Team Cherry in a recent blog update. The 'Sea of Sorrow' expansion, imbued with a nautical theme, is scheduled for release in 2026 and will be offered at no cost to all players.

This DLC promises to enrich the game with 'new areas, bosses, tools, and more,' according to Team Cherry. Although the brief trailer doesn't extensively divulge gameplay specifics, it does capture the essence of what's to come. It begins with an image suggestive of fishing gear, followed by a scene featuring an object or figure on a wooden, tomb-like platform shrouded under a canvas. Subsequently, an electrically charged orb structure makes an appearance, before the final reveal of Hornet, the game’s lead character.

Updates on Hollow Knight's Nintendo Switch 2 Version

In a related update, Team Cherry has shared information regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the original Hollow Knight. This enhanced version aims to achieve visual equivalence with the Hollow Knight: Silksong edition on the same platform. The studio has also made available a beta update for players on Steam and GOG, enhancing the original Hollow Knight for PC enthusiasts.
