Enhancing Your Xbox Wireless Headset with Microsoft's Update
Great news for owners of the 2024 Xbox Wireless Headset! Microsoft is rolling out a complimentary update that infuses your device with a host of fresh features, thanks to Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio.
This enhancement promises a range of benefits including extended battery life, reduced lag, and notably better voice communication quality when used with Microsoft's handheld consoles such as the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X. The traditional Bluetooth Classic demands higher bandwidth, often leading to poorer audio quality when you try to incorporate two-way voice communication.
Improved Audio Streaming
Back in August, Microsoft emphasized the importance of maintaining audio quality. Now, with this update, any Bluetooth LE-enabled headset can deliver superior audio experiences on Windows 11. An additional perk of Bluetooth LE is its ability to stream audio to multiple output devices simultaneously, such as two pairs of headphones or a headphone and speaker combination. However, the super wideband feature is still in the pipeline for Xbox Ally models.
Get More Without Spending More
Although this feature is exclusive to newer headsets, its release adds significant value at no additional charge. This could ease the increased cost of the headset, which, after debuting at $99, rose to $119 in May. Moreover, it begins to blur the line between Xbox consoles and PCs.
