Reddit has embarked on an experiment to introduce verified profiles on its platform. Those participating in this 'limited alpha test' will be distinguished by a gray checkmark appearing alongside their usernames across various parts of the site, such as profiles, community hubs, user feeds, detailed post pages, and search results.

Limited Participation in Verification

In this initial trial, Reddit has exclusively invited a select group of public figures and reliable partners. These chosen participants must willingly join, ensure their accounts are maintained in good standing, and consistently engage on the platform. Importantly, the verification process does not bestow any extra advantages upon participants.

Verification Process and Limitations

Currently, there isn't an option for users to apply for verification. Businesses that have already been identified with the 'Official' label will eventually see this replaced by the new gray checkmark.
