Analogue introduces vibrant 4K N64 models

Analogue, well known for stirring a sense of nostalgia, is releasing a special 4K N64 version. These models, echoing the aesthetic of the early 2000s 'Funtastic' series, will feature transparent casings and are set to launch on December 10th at 8 AM Pacific/11 AM Eastern.

These dynamic transparent editions will be quite rare, offered in limited numbers. Their price is set at $299, a premium over the standard edition. The colors have been meticulously matched by Analogue over the course of a year to ensure they are true to the original hues. They are even named identically: fire, watermelon, grape, ice, jungle, clear, and smoke. In addition to these, a non-transparent gold version is also on the way, reminiscent of a special edition once found in Toys R Us, now a collector's item on eBay.

Accompanying Accessories

Alongside the 'Funtastic' models, there will be matching 8BitDo 64 controllers available under the same limited release conditions on December 10th. For those who prefer the classic look, Analogue will also restock the standard editions in black and white, which will be priced at $269 and ready for purchase on the same day, with deliveries starting in January.

However, the timing of this release isn't ideal for everyone. Some enthusiasts waiting for the basic black or white versions might feel left out, especially if they would have preferred these colorful versions. There was a report last month addressing an issue where the controllers shipping with the Analogue 3D were not color-matched to the original N64 controllers. For those seeking the classic look, an additional version of the controller, aligned with the original colors, is anticipated for release in January—at an extra cost.
