Ray-Ban’s Meta Smart Glasses: Even Better Pricing than Black Friday

Ray-Ban's Meta Smart Glasses: Even Better Pricing than Black Friday

It might seem strange, but missing out on the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses deal during Black Friday could be a stroke of luck. Recently, the first-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses hit a record low price of $224.25, which surpasses the Black Friday deal by $15.

Originally retailing at $299, they are now available at Amazon and Best Buy for $224.25. Additionally, there's a $299.99 option at Target, with the bonus of an $85 gift card for online purchases.

Great Value in Previous Models

Despite Meta's introduction of the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) at the end of October, its predecessor still holds significant value. Offering almost identical functionality, they allow users to enjoy music, capture photographs, shoot 1080p videos, and even stream live content on Facebook or Instagram—with no need to touch your smartphone.

While the newer version offers 3K video capabilities at 30fps, both versions share the same 12-megapixel sensor, meaning there isn't a noticeable difference in image quality.

Advanced Audio and Future Updates

Equipped with a five-microphone setup, these glasses enable hands-free calling. An upcoming software update will introduce a 'conversation focus' feature designed to enhance the clarity of your conversations.

Interestingly, the first-generation glasses are set to receive further updates inspired by Gen 2, including slow-motion and hyperlapse video features expected this fall.

Smart Features and AI Integration

Expanding beyond typical functionalities, these glasses utilize Meta's AI-driven features for enhanced experiences. This includes real-time language translations for Spanish, Italian, and French, with planned support for German and Portuguese.

With voice commands, users can take photographs, discover recipes based on household ingredient inventories, learn about landmarks, and more.

Battery Life and Pricing Considerations

Although the Gen 2 glasses boast twice the battery life (up to eight hours), the $155 savings on the Gen 1 glasses could make the compromise more appealing.
