Small Plane Accident During Relief Mission

A light aircraft on a humanitarian mission to aid Jamaica's recovery from Hurricane Melissa tragically ended its journey prematurely, crashing into a canal in a residential area of Coral Springs, Florida, as confirmed by city officials.

This aircraft, identified as a Beech B100, impacted the waterway around 10:19 a.m., in a neighborhood backdrop as per reports from both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Coral Springs Fire Department.

Investigation into Aircraft Incident

The fire department stated that no individuals have been found nor has the number of occupants onboard the plane been determined. Importantly, there were no injuries reported among the local residents, and residential buildings remained unharmed.

Approximately five minutes into its flight, after departing from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, the plane encountered difficulties while en route to Sangster International Airport located in Montego Bay, Jamaica. This flight was integral to ongoing relief operations following the severe impact of Hurricane Melissa.
