Tragic Incident at Oklahoma Big Cat Preserve
A tragic event unfolded at a big cat sanctuary in southeastern Oklahoma, leading to the death of an animal caretaker.
On Sunday, Growler Pines Tiger Preserve announced that Ryan Easley lost his life on Saturday due to an unfortunate encounter with a tiger at the facility located near Hugo, close to the Texas state line.
Expressing sorrow over the incident, the preserve noted on their Facebook page that the mishap underscores the magnificence and unpredictability of the animal kingdom. They emphasized that Ryan was well aware of these dangers, acting out of affection rather than recklessness. To him, these animals were not merely creatures under his care, but beings he developed profound bonds with, based on mutual respect, consistent care, and love.
Suspension of Tours
In light of the incident, all visitor tours have been temporarily suspended until further notice, as mentioned in their statement.
The Growler Pines Tiger Preserve, a private establishment, provides visitors the opportunity to book tours for observing tigers and learning about the methods involved in their care and training, according to information on their website.
