Earthquake Strikes Near Kamchatka's East Coast
A significant seismic event measuring 7.4 in magnitude occurred early Saturday morning, affecting the region near Kamchatka's eastern shore. This information comes from the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter of this earthquake was pinpointed to be approximately 111.7 kilometers, or about 69.3 miles, to the east of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The seismic activity was detected at a depth of 39 kilometers beneath the surface.
