Urgent Rescue Operations

Emergency responders are tirelessly working to assist those stranded by the surging waters in Texas.

Evacuation procedures were underway Friday afternoon at camps located near the Guadalupe River, with Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick overseeing gubernatorial responsibilities.

A fleet of 14 helicopters, supported by 12 drones and nine dedicated rescue teams, is engaged in the rescue efforts. Rescuers are actively retrieving individuals, both adults and children, who sought refuge in trees to escape the rising waters.

Sheriff Larry L. Leitha confirmed at a news conference on Friday that at least 13 lives have been lost due to this disastrous flooding in Kerr County.

The area has already been deluged with up to 12 inches of rain, with further rainfall anticipated as the day progresses.
